Puke is a rainbow that’s fallen from grace. Despised and quickly mopped up, nobody stops for a minute to watch its colours. The meal you last had decides the colour pattern. Dark green dots from palak, little red flecks of tomato, half broken bits of yellow rice, purple strings of aubergine, white smudges of onion, pink hints of strawberry seeds – its beauty wasted on eyes that are too tired to see.
Tip: If you have a Kerala banana and overdo having Old Monk, the colour of your puke will be a gritty, mustard yellow, not a murky, smokey brown.
